Two birds with one stone!

June 13, 2016

TWO birds with one stone! When Associate Tourism Minister Paula Bennett, who is also Social Housing Minister, came up with the idea of rounding up the homeless and paying for them to stay in motels she helped reduce the housing “crisis” to a housing “challenge” while helping boost domestic tourism.

Equally imaginative are the farmers who have turned to glamping to supplement their income. Ridge Top Farm, Manawatu, is one of several.

It offers a kingsized bed, a double-layer duvet, a beer and wine fridge all under canvas. But luxury camping it is, apparently. To keep things folksy there’s a campfire and outdoor bath. Best of both worlds. Which is what Paula Bennett thinks she has, too!
