The first tourism marketing book said to focus on small businesses highlights iT as a successful SME globally. The book is by Dr Steve Pike, formerly of Rotorua but now associate professor at the School of Advertising, Marketing and Public Relations, at QUT Business School, Queensland. Tourism Marketing For Small Businesses is more than 240 pages including other NZ case studies. "What is different about this is that it is the first tourism marketing book in the world to focus on small businesses. Surprising, given nine out every 10 tourism businesses on the planet are small businesses," he says.
